About the Consultant

I began my career as an NHS Speech and Language Therapist in 2002, working in a small London clinic supporting children and their families.

From the very start, I quickly learned the importance of truly listening to caregivers stories, fears, challenges, hopes and aspirations using this understanding to inform meaningful clinical decisions.

My early work supporting autistic children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in both specialist and mainstream provisions shaped a core belief that continues to underpin my practice today: the child comes first before health challenges. I regularly ask myself, parents and staff this question; “What can the child do?”, because every child can do something.

Working in schools deepened my understanding of the realities faced by SENCOs, teachers and support staff within busy educational environments. I developed a strong appreciation of the importance of effective environmental strategies, collaborative problem-solving, and building shared understanding around each child’s unique communication journey.

I firmly believe the best outcomes are achieved when therapists work in partnership with staff sharing experiences and reflecting on challenges to build confidence and trust. This collaborative approach has informed my work supporting young adults with mental health needs across Further Education, Secure Children’s Homes and Colleges, within both small and large multidisciplinary teams.

As the educational landscape continues to evolve, with increasing levels of SEN and Autism coupled with ongoing changes to EHC plans and working systems, I bring extensive experience, adaptability and a deep understanding of diverse settings. I place strong emphasis on understanding each environment from the outset, enabling me to build effective relationships and tailor support to the specific needs of each provision.

I am passionate about supporting children, young people and the professionals around them to create inclusive, empowering environments where communication, wellbeing and the potential of each child and young person can thrive.

I look forward to working with you.
